About Joe
My photographic interest started back in my high school days, but was limited by what the family's point and shoot camera could capture. Upon moving to Phoenix, Arizona to attend Collins College for visual communications in website design, I had a class in photography which took everything to the next level. It was from there I started photographing storms and lightning, the beautiful Arizona skies and landscapes, and eventually portraiture.
Shortly after completing my photography class, one of my lightning photos was published in a church newsletter, and then later in the Serbin Annual College Photography Contest 2001 book as a finalist.
Late in 2001 I started my apprenticeship at
Empire West Studios, Inc. which specializes in model and talent photography. From this I learned advanced photography and lighting techniques while completing my degree.
Shortly after graduation in March of 2002, I moved back to Owensville, Missouri to start building my photography business and skills towards a more professional level.
